  1. The chapter points out several pitfalls that a leader can face when beginning a group session or exercise.  While we all may understand those pitfalls, what factors are at work when beginning a group that could result in you committing those same mistakes?

Chapter 12 – Leading the Middle Stage of a Group

  1. If you were running a group and put out a round to assess members’ feelings about the effectiveness of the group, and the assessment was largely negative, how do you think you would naturally respond? What personal reactions would you have to put in check in order to use this feedback in a constructive way?
