If you chose the genre paper, start searching for sources. Begin looking for peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters from a book published by a university press (see my video for how to do so). As you do this, fill out this worksheet.
let’s say you wanted to know how the media represents superhero characters. You could code all the characters with superpowers in a sample of films. You could then document what superpower each character had, their personality traits, as well as say their demographics. That would allow you to study such things as whether or not characters of a particular social class or gender are more likely to have particular types of superpowers in films
