When you use the term “data,” you mean not only scores in high-stakes tests but also the broad array of other information on student skills and knowledge typically available in schools. Schools administer benchmarks, readiness tests, end-of-course exams, classroom tests, projects, homework – these are just some of the kinds of data that educators examine in targeting areas for instructional improvement.
