Introduction

In this assessment, you will explore the future of training and development with a focus on the impact of advances in technology.

Instructions

Select two of the following training technology topics:

  • Wearables (smartwatches, smart bands, smart glasses).
  • Artificial intelligence / Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Telepresence.
  • Tin Can API.

Complete the following for each technology:

  • Describe each of technology, including information such as who developed it and what it does.
  • Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the two forms of technology.
  • Project how this technology will be used in the future in a selected industry.
  • Discuss the implications of these two forms of technology on trainers and training designers.

Assessment Requirements

  • Written communication: Write in a professional style with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics.
  • Resources: Include at least 1 peer-reviewed resource that is not from ATD or SHRM.
  • APA formatting: Use current APA style and formatting to present your references and citations.
  • Length of paper: 3–4 typed, double-spaced pages.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12-point.
