I learned how important it is for a nurse to be competent toward the work when providing services to patients, in terms of knowledge, skills, educational consultation, and remediation, from the course.
Describe how you achieved the transferable skill, Critical Thinking, including at least one example of new knowledge gained related to the transferable skill.
A skill that can be applied to a variety of jobs or roles is called a transferable skill. Examples include self-control, problem solving, and communication. I was able to develop some of the communication skills necessary for the nurse-patient relationship through my interactions with the patients. Additionally, I was able to maintain my composure while working as a nurse throughout the course. It also developed problem-solving techniques that helped with some of the clinical issues that were brought up.
Analyzing the evidence to reach a conclusion is critical thinking. The definitions for the term vary, but they typically involve the logical, skeptical, objective analysis or evaluation of factual evidence.
The new knowledge that I gained through this is that I was able to learn how to analyze the patient’s information on the diagnosis process and evaluate them well to offer an effective service.
