Assessment Description
An integral part of supporting ELLs is advocating for their needs and encouraging families to use their voices. Not only can teachers and school leaders become advocates, but they can also collaborate with and empower ELL families to advocate for themselves.
Imagine the final responsibility of your task force is to educate ELL parents/guardians of their educational rights, knowing that it is part of demonstrating compliance with your state’s ELL policies. You decide to plan a parent/guardian advocacy workshop and must draft a well-crafted proposal to submit to your school principal.
