Hunger and Eating disorders
*Did you know that a person diagnosed with an eating disorder cannot go to a general mental health facility, if the eating disorder is their main diagnosis. That person would have to go to a facility that specializes in eating disorders. Most health insurance companies don’t recognize eating disorders as a mental health or medically eligible diagnosis, so all treatment expenses are out of pocket.
Discuss your thoughts on how society, social media, peer pressure, and abuse (physical and mental) contribute to eating disorders. As a society how can we address this very serious illness?
