Purpose t: To generate a first page draft that helps us start the paper. To generate material for the paper we can revise and develop over the course of the week. To receive feedback on our draft so we can revise and move the draft forward.

 Description:

  • Post a first-page draft of your rhetorical situation assignment as a Word document for a workshop and review.
  • Then watch these videos of professors from across disciplines talking about drafting and write down a 2-3 things you learned or found valuable from the videos at the top of your response :

Now use the following discussion review questions to review at least two of your classmates drafts. You have 24 hours from the draft deadline to review your classmates’ work. Cut and paste the questions into the response box.

Draft Workshop Questions

  1. Does the paper clearly identify a text, set up the text, and then begin to rhetorically analyze the text? Make suggestions for improvements.
  2. Does the paper mention the intended audience for the text and explain how the intended audience is catered to? Provide suggestions.
  3. Does the paper identify the purpose of the text and all of the different people involved in its creation? What evidence is provided to support this point?
