All three of the expository texts you read for today are skillful, creative, and engaging. One belongs to the genre of the Montaignean essay;  one to the genre of the “white paper”/report, which belongs to the discourse of “technical writing” (where skilled writers “translate” and make interesting technical information for an audience that includes people who do not have (any or much) expertise in the subject area; and the last to the genre of civic engagement.

What are the “moves” you see in each of these pieces? We would expect a lot of differences…..but anything similar?
