Issues Report

This is a 2 part assignment

Part I

Students are required to write an issues report on a topic related to course content. You should choose one sport administration issue currently in the news (or one that you have experienced in your educational environment); explain the issue; describe how it was addressed; and highlight some of the lessons learned. Conclude with some of your own recommendations for future planning improvements. The report must be a minimum length of 4 pages (double-spaced, 1 inch margins, Times New Roman (or Courier or something simple and similar), size 12 font, and follow APA guidelines). The paper must also include a title page and a reference page (in addition to the 4 page minimum for content). You do not however, have to have an abstract. You DO NOT have a running head on each page, but need page numbers, and citations within the paper. Be sure to follow the APA examples shown in the Course Modules.

Part II

Presentation

Students will develop and deliver a 10 minute PowerPoint oral presentation summary on Zoom, AND submit a PP slide of their research on their issues report (no more than 12 slides). Please submit a copy of your Powerpoint for grading purposes. The PP should include a Reference slide at the end and citations on slides.  See examples on the Course Modules on previous well-done presentations.  Also see examples of good and poorly done slides (color, font size, amount of words,  pics etc.) We will utilize the “share” technology usage on Zoom in order to let the class see the slides during the presentation.

Slides must be submitted prior to the presentation time.  If you are unable to present on the night listed, then we will individually make another time available.  Failure to orally present the summary of your research will result in a 25% deduction in the assignment.
