#BeTheChange

Refining our voices.

Objective:

This is a chance to refresh your writing and to connect the relevance of your experiences to a deeper cultural context. Even the most experienced writers can’t do everything at once in one sitting. After you have revised the structure of your writing, you should devote time to editing and proofreading. This work is best done after giving the assignment a rest and coming to it afresh. Be sure the large elements of your writing are situated (the minimum expectations) and then work towards the smaller elements – like voice and style (season your chicken – or vegan tofu- with your special flavor). Keep pushing for thought provoking commentary and uniqueness. Then, work towards tightening your writing by eliminating unnecessary repetition and awkward phrases, correcting grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
