Recruiting and Selection Plan – 10 -12 pages long, APA 7th format

Pick one job position you are familiar with. Create a recruiting and selection plan for this job position in this assignment. Specifically, your project paper needs to include the following:

1. Section one (job analysis): Conduct a job analysis for this position by developing a job description and clarifying the KSAOs (knowledge, skill, ability, and other characteristics) needed for this position. Since most jobs have existing job descriptions available, it is reasonable to start from there, and then revise or supplement this description with the other components you see as important. In other words, your task in this section is to come up with your own version of the job description for this job, which should be a better version of the existing one. In your paper, please clearly identify what is the current job description (the source it is from) and what are your revisions. (Please list the original job description information in the Appendix.)

2. Section two (recruiting): Develop a recruitment plan for this job position including internal and external strategies. Please clarify:

a. The rationale for you to choose these recruiting strategies for this particular job position; and

b. How you intend to use these strategies to recruit for this particular position (with your original ideas, beyond the general descriptions in the textbook).

3. Section three (selection): Develop a selection plan for this job position. Specifically: a. Choose three selection methods, one of which needs to be interview. Describe how you may use the other two selection methods. For interview, design a structural interview by developing interview questions according to what you have learned in class. b. Conduct this interview with a friend or family member. Reflect on the interview process and answers. Then develop a revised version of your interview questions. Briefly describe why you think these revisions will improve your interview questions.

4. Section four (reflection): Reflect on the process of working on this project. Discuss two most important personal learnings in terms of effective recruiting and selection.
