Response to Lauren’s Discussion

How might nurses utilizing telehealth benefit from these resources?

They can look up information about surrounding areas where the patient is located. They could see what disease processes are increased in the area the patient lives. It also has guidelines you can follow to help prevent diseases. It can also help with preventing outbreaks because they can pull up numbers.

Address what you find innovative about the link.

I think its innovative because it’s a collaboration of several agencies (CDC, 2022). Many CDC partner program with wonder to be able to provide the public with data access. It can organize data results for you into charts for presentations. It can even compare one demographic area to another.  It can make all the information you need for studying even an epidemic a little easier. The answers to some of your questions are at your finger tips. All you have to do is type to find out info that now public.

Feel free to share some of your nursing innovation ideas!

I feel like some type of motivation to get the critically ill wanting to get better. Often times they get so depressed from being stuck in one room. I feel like ICU’s need to be flipped and have large windows and bright colors. Seeing the sunshine helps you feel better. To be able to see the Sun/Moon also helps keep them on track with day and night. I think it would be wonderful to have devices that can put stars on the ceiling and have ambient lighting in these particular rooms. Today is so high tech I feel a lot of people feel stripped of that when going into a hospital room. Another idea for pediatrics is why not have a pretend racecar hooked up to some type of video game they can play and the video will vibrate the car and assist with percussion due to pneumonia etc. Kids are afraid when they have to get percussion why not advance with technology! I bet lots of kids needing percussion would want to go take a ride in the TECHNO CAR! Innovation is viewed by many disciplines and businesses as a necessary factor for reaching goals (Week 7). I bet goals would be met by reducing times spent in the pediatric unit for pneumonia. Gets some fun vibrations going on rather than a person coming with this scarry looking thing.
