One of the best ways to protect and encourage the power of film is to talk about them. If you like a movie, share it with others. It may not be what they are interested in, but they may go ahead and watch and have their opinion. Good or bad reviews mean the film is talked about, which will help preserve them.

Another way to protect and encourage would have people enjoy the movie with you. It could be at home or in a movie theatre. This gives everyone the experience, and they can appreciate the art or not. But again, it provides a voice to the film. It all comes down to word of mouth.

The last way to protect and encourage is to purchase films you like. We are in the streaming era, but you can still buy movies. When films do exceptional at the box office, all the other aspects of the film also do well. It could be the cast, music, directors, and even the people in charge of the sound. All of them benefit from the rewards of a great film. So, sales are another way to conserve films.

I want to encourage people to continue giving films a chance. People get upset with a producer, director, or company so they refuse to watch films associated with those groups. While it is sometimes understandable, in order for films to continue we must give new films a chance. I also want to look at the deeper meaning (if possible) in a film. Mainly, asking myself questions such as why is the music this way in this scene? Or, why is this scene physically darker than the previous scene? By looking deeper I can share hidden meanings with others which might spread an appreciation of the film. Finally, I want to continue to see films (though maybe not in theatres). If I have an excitement about new films, I can spread that to others. My future children will be exposed to new media. My partner will see films with me. Right now my boyfriend and I have a list of movies we want the other to see. We are exposing each other to films of our childhood.
