·      This paper is worth 50 point of your final grade.

Choose a news story from any reputable English language newspaper, news magazine, or news website. Select a story that emphasizes an event or situation in which there is a theme of cultural underrepresentation. The news story can be about challenges, successes, perception, or cultural change.

Make sure you provide the instructor with a link or a copy of the news story.

In your paper, you will develop a critical analysis of the news story. A critical analysis is not a summary or an opinion. A critical analysis:

·      Identifies the story’s main thesis apart from description or opinion

·      Articulates the story’s conclusion

·      Identifies relevant definitions, premises, and assumptions

·      Assesses whether the argument’s premises provide sufficient logical support for the conclusion

·      Assesses the reasonableness of the premises

·      Relevant within the last 5 years

In the paper, you will make use of three or four concepts defined in our course textbook (Boldface these concepts in your paper and make sure to properly define them). I would like the three concepts to be “Intercultural Relationships, Intercultural Communication in Educational Settings, and Intercultural Communication and Health Care” These will be the lenses through which you will find it easier to do the analysis. These three to four concepts should guide your three to four main points.

Your four required sources should be books, databases, reputable news sources, and expert sources (such as professional experts, scholars, or other authoritative sources). All four sources must be cited in APA format using proper APA intext citations and a reference page.
